‘Sun Children’ to screen at Bosphorus filmfest

Iranian feature film ‘Sun Children’ is to vie at the Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey.

The award-winning flick directed by Majid Majidi will represent Iran at the eighth edition of the Turkish festival.

The film has recently won awards and acclamations at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

Written by Nima Javidi and jointly produced by Majidi and Amir Banan, the social drama focuses on labor kids.

Popular stars appearing in the flick are Javad Ezzati, Ali Nasiriyan and Tannaz Tabatabaee.

Majidi is one of Iran’s prominent filmmakers. His movie ‘Children of Heaven’ was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in the late 1990s.

His movies, including ‘The Color of Heaven’ (1999) and ‘Baran’ (2000), attended various international film festivals and garnered many awards.

The purposes of the International Bosphorus Film Festival are to contribute to the development of motion pictures that have ethical, esthetical and technical integrity in Turkey and in the World and to support young producers and directors materially and morally in producing new movies.

The eighth edition of the event is slated for October 23 -30, 2020.
